We’ve gathered data from hashtags and geotagged locations on Instagram and created an infographic highlighting the most popular beauty spots in the UK outside of London.

We selected locations in the UK outside of London where users had posted the hashtags #beautiful, #stunning, #wonderful, #romantic and #lovely.

After analysing 300,000+ Instagram posts, we then ordered the locations by number of hashtags which led to a list of the 15 most popular and attractive places to visit in the UK outside of London.

1. Cleethorpes Beach, Lincolnshire, England

If you thought you knew which location Instagram users would find the most engaging, then think again. Cleethorpes Beach gets the most plaudits and comes top of the list. With stunning views along the promenade, the quintessentially British seaside resort is loved by Instagram users.

2. Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland

You won’t be surprised to learn that this much-loved castle is photographed from all kinds of angles throughout the year and the images put on social media. From its vantage point above the city, you can take time out to view the Scottish crown jewels and the legendary Stone of Destiny.

3. Giant’s Causeway, County Antrim, Northern Ireland

One of the most famous landmarks in the world, the causeway gives visitors a glimpse into ancient history and is widely photographed and posted about on Instagram.

4. Durdle Door, Dorset, England
